About RFC

There are many therapists in Genesee County who have an abundance of skill, talent, training, and passion.

So, why RFC?

Trauma-Informed

Regardless of your presenting concern, we use a Trauma-informed lens when approaching every client. Essentially, we understand the connection between stressful or traumatic life experiences and current emotional and behavioral functioning. We strive to understand the deeper meaning and need being met by your current moods and behaviors while working toward your individual goals.

Not “just” Talk Therapy

Sometimes talk therapy is helpful. We all can benefit from talking to someone and just feeling heard at times. But, if you have tried talk therapy and are feeling stuck, you may need something more. At RFC, we also use evidence-based, sensory tools and interventions that help connect the thinking/talking and emotional/sensory parts of the brain. In doing so, you may begin to better manage day to day stress and find strength in regulating your own moods and emotions. Request an EMDR therapist today!

Collaboration & Comfort

You are the expert of yourself. RFC offers a comfortable space where you simply have to show up and be you. At RFC, we are here to walk beside you and not ahead of you. We welcome your ongoing feedback and seek to build genuine, empathic relationships in which you may feel challenged but also supported.

Rates & Insurance

INVESTMENT

Therapy is an investment in your life. Research supports the close connection between our mental and physical health-- yet mental health is frequently not seen as a priority. The impact of stress on our brains and bodies is significant. Developing a positive, collaborative relationship with a therapist can help you find ways to manage your stress and reduce the negative impact on your overall health.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
