Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR): A form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR has also been used successfully in the treatment of panic attacks, complicated grief, dissociative disorders, disturbing memories, phobias, eating disorders, performance anxiety, stress reduction, addictions, pain disorders, and depression.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): A form of therapy for children and adolescents whom have experienced trauma. This approach incorporates psychoeducation, relaxation skills training, emotional regulation skills, cognitive coping skills and education, trauma processing, and enhancing future resilience.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A form of therapeutic approach successfully used for a variety of presenting needs and for children, adolescents, and adults. CBT emphasizes the importance of the connection between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and works to modify negative thoughts to reduce distressing feelings and actions.

Mindfulness: An approach that strives to bring attention to present experiences, feelings, and sensations. Research shows that practicing 5-10 minutes of mindfulness per day can significantly improve long term mental and physical health and well being.

Sensory-Based Interventions: Play, art, drawing, guided meditation apps, and music help increase communication between our sensory and cognitive parts of the brain. These techniques are especially useful when working with children and with individuals of all ages whom have experienced chronic stress or trauma.

Consultation and Supervision: If you are pursuing full licensure in Counseling in Michigan or seeking consultation as a fully licensed therapist, RFC may be the right fit.
